LR Salesman told me in Europe the D4 can tow 4.1 tonnes..same in America?

Pity not so here as that would be another good reason to buy one rather than a F truck or a 200s plus 10k GVM upgrade.

TasPol years ago test drove D4s to tow their military assault boats and were super impressed but could not get around the 3.5t limit so bought an F 250 instead. Allegedly the D4 cut 40mins off the Hobart to Strahan trip vs the Ffyy plus used way less fuel. So the s man said☺

Don't believe it - in Europe it is 3500kg with a ball weight of only 150kg.

In the US - tow weight is 3500kg with a ball weight similar to ours.

Gday DieselLSE , this is my next job , is the false floor you made secured at all ? If not is that possible without loosing to much of the space you gain?

Also did you remove them together as 1 whole unit or each seat seperately.

    Cheers Bulletman

No. The floor (which now has a carbon fibre floor insert from a five seater as an access lid and to reduce weight) just sits on the side floor carpeted panels. It could easily be secured using the tie down hooks or a spare couple of captive nuts already in the floor (between the tie downs from memory). I've not seen the need to do this as it's never moved even with no load. I should add that it is prevented from moving forward by lugs which sit into the forward (third row seat base) brackets.
I removed the seats as an assembly. You'll need someone to help you lift them out.

When I removed mine, the whole unit came out together. A bit awkward but manageable with myself and my wife.

Fitted a clear genuine bonnet protector - bought s/hand via gumtree, listed for a D3. Fits perfectly, easy install and looks great imho.

Looking for a fellow Sandgroper (permanent or temporary) who would like to earn much gratitude and a little NW currency to show the D4 ie read as to actually do it with my interference, how to install the resistors in the rear for towing with towed having LEDs - in my case trailer and caravan.

I have the resistors (and a spare second set) plus the appropriate switch, but need help with correct size (and wire) connections and a heat sink - or two?

Hoping to do a wee trip north during September.
