so the previous owner had a tear in the outer speaker cover of the door card rear driver side, simples and cheap to replace i thought but ...
one wrecking yard wanted $500 incl delivery for one inner door card complete, another wanted $200 incl delivery but were the wrong colour for my application, then found another local guy wrecking a D4 who agreed to remove just the speaker cover and post for $50.
1. torn speaker cover, black seems to be more common then my colour
2. replacement found, problem with the inner door cards complete even in same colour the trim where you rest your arm on or the trim along the inner door handle seem to have variations in colour making buying a replacement complete door card harder to come by
3. drilled out the tabs holding the cover in place - they were very brittle and did not need much drilling (half a turn on the drill)
4. new cover glued in using some silicone black i had lying around the garage
5. job done waiting for it to cure for 24hrs before refitting - job done for little $$$
Land Rover
We took our D3 camping... it's been a while due to Covid etc.. but it was fun, and it may be the last time we use it as I'm going to put it on the market soon, changing over to a VW T6.1 4Motion van... time for a change...

Got back from 10 days away. ~2,000km traveled.
- Installed reversing camera an hour before departure. Pretty pleased with how it turned out.
- Passenger front and drivers rear lock motors failed.
- Passenger cup holder succumbed to an unchecked passenger knee injury.
- Van camera was great. With the rear-view on the kids RSE displays we had almost quiet kids for both towing legs and no iPads required. Nice to be able to see the bike tucked up behind the van that I couldn't see in the mirrors.
- Reversing camera needs its lines set up.
- Turns out the 5 year old loves a bit of Willie Nelson. Probably did "On the road again" nearly 30 times. Lucky the wife likes him too.
Averaged 9.02 L/100 not towing and ~13 towing. Found the car sits nicely in 6th at 100 with the Van on, but according to both Oil temp and EGT is much happier in 5th.
The lock motors are an annoyance. The Passenger won't lock, but always unlocks. Easy enough to use the key to lock it. The rear drivers is intermittent but usually locks or unlocks on a couple of tries. I'll sort those easy enough.
That's the second towing trip since I did the HPFP in April 19 with no "want to set fire to it" events. I'm beginning to get some faith back..
