I caught the windscreen curse on Saturday evening too, did 600ks over the weekend. Out to woko national Park for lunch and a walk. Stopped in at Gloucester so the kids could do they're thing at the skate park.

Youi online claim was so easy. I'll book it in today.

Picked up my new fridge on Sunday morning. Second hand trailblaza, Aussie made out of Qld.

Cranking battery SSB ss88ti going back on warranty today. I always test my batteries every service. They are both getting lower then they should. Hvt 50d aswell.

Me and the kids give the car a good wash. I'm glad I waxed it properly. Takes less then an hour. Looks new

Very few issues electronically. My work Prado and Hilux had more issues.

Look at the ambient light sensor - a code read wouldn’t hurt either.
I came from a Prado only one issue that was fixed by Toyota ouitside of warranty, had a hilux also with no issues had this Disco3 for 6 months and almost weekly issues so no I am not taking the ****. It has spent more time in the worksop than on the road.............its a tidy well looked after car with full service history with 225K on the clock so moderate driving etc however just endless problems to date. Had codes read on numerous occasions but at 80.00 a pop better off sorting with a GAP tool or from people with prior experience with similar issues

My mate just traded his Prado after finding out from his mechanic that the engine mount on the passenger side had punched through the chassis rail and was just flapping about doing its own thing. Shiny new Pajero in his driveway now - guessing the dealer will either sell the Prado on as is it do a dodgy roady on it to flog it to some poor sap. When I googled this issue it turns out it’s wasn’t an uncommon problem. Almost no off road work and well maintained.

Another Disco 3 09 owner from the school car park chatting asked me why his radio not working. Starts then jumps into Phone mode. Been like that for ages. Has owned it since near new.

Asked if ever had a leak and oh yes the original windscreen pin hole leaked through the centre light. Was replaced but the A-Pillar outside cover then leaked worse via a broken fitting into the passenger footwell.

I said that might be the source of your trouble as are so many electrical gremlins when you don’t know full history. Cars get sold onto next person.

Suspect a bit of corrosion behind the side passenger footwell panels there.

The D2 has The Three Amigo’s, the D3 has Gremlins (and they don’t like water). All friendly characters once you get to know them. Yet to get my head around the scary D4 Cranky Critters. Will stick with the D3 for a while yet.

The good thing about the D4 cranky critters, there's not many of them

I've never found a Gremlin in my D3 since I've owned it but I think I ran one over the other night.
