Original 4200k vs the new ones at 5500k

    Only 2800 lumen though.

Let us know how they go.
I quite like Stedi’s 5500k light and these are no different. Light output is improved compared to the old ones however the old ones were old and tired with lower output. They’ll do.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Finally got around to dealing with EGRs.impressive build up of gunk in intake and manifolds. The blockage at least 50%.

Washed out the intake in diesel back to fully clean and dug out as much from manifolds. The household vacuum cleaner was sacrificed for the job.

Perhaps the messiest job going dealing with that primordial goop.

Swapped out coolant block also while there. Perhaps not the best sequence as oil cooler change to follow but not sure when. Will be a lot cleaner on next dismantle. I’ll replace the intake orings at that time.

By the looks of that goop it makes me mighty glad that somewhere during my cars life it had an EGR blanking plate miraculously fall onto the engine. Holy crap!
Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.

No amount of aggressive driving (Italian tuneup) or miracle in a bottle cleaner either. This takes disassembly to clean.

It does represent quite a few tanks of fuel though over 12+ years.

Went to find a spot for my recently acquired icom IC450 CB module, only to find no way will it fit as intended under the steering wheel like in the RRC.
    Where do people fit them?
I suspect it will have to go under one of the seats - and if so, just as well I don't plan any deep water crossings.

Under the passenger seat is where mine lives. If you do a deep water crossing and get water under the seats then you have many more ECU’s and other things to be worrying about. Your UHF will be the least of your worries.

Crickey, that’s disgusting. That’s like a nose full of boogie.

Mine was out a few weeks ago when I had the coolant outlet replace, was clean as a bell with minimal oil.
