Assuming that I can get into the door, with as little angle grinding of cargo barrier and drawers as possible, can someone please point me in the direction of where I need to hack into the rear panel? The only instructions that I have found on here assume that you can get the door open to put in the fix -yes, I should have done that! I am assuming that I won’t be able to get the door open and will need to take to the inner skin to get access to the mechanism. If there is someone in Alice Springs who has done this before, would also appreciate the opportunity for some on the spot advice. Thanks very much in anticipation. Yours in hopeful anticipation, Hawc
Hawc, it is unusual for this to happen without warming of impending failure, like only half unlatching for some time. It could be that your battery is not fully charged. Before going for the angle grinder, make sure your battery is fully charged and try again using the key fob button. Note that the cable fix still will not work if the latch doesn't open, it only works for a broken cable.
