Nothing happened to the Discovery today or any time recently actually, but about 2.1/2 years ago the EPB failed badly but was fixed under warranty. Job took about 4 days as they had to wait for parts from Sydney (I think) but I got a loan car from them so it wasn't a problem.
All done and working well.
Had the cars 100K service done recently by Dover Automotive (Dave Dover) in Wangara and his mechanic spotted that there were bolts missing from the hand brake cables and the module bracket. This was the day before we went off for a couple of weeks but the mechanic assured me there was no danger of things falling off so we went away anyway.
Earlier this week I went into see the stealers service manager and told him I didn't think it was very good.... if the bolts were fitted they shouldn't fall out, or if they weren't fitted, why not? No arguments from him and car booked in for Friday and on the ramp she went and all fixed in just over an hour.
Thanks from me to an alert mechanic at Dover's and also to the stealer for fixing it quickly whatever the reason it wasn't done properly in the first place.
AlanH.
