Oil and filter change, new air filter which was hardly dirty and not surprising since i've had the snorkel on since just after buying the car.

Normally I'd look at fuel related issues but if no faults showing then the symptoms can be related to C.A.S.
If it happens again look to see if revs showing on Gap tool
Your not in the recall range but doesn't mean they don't fail

A successful run with the van out to Toodyay and back for the weekend and didn't break down (this is starting to become a habit).
Didn't manage to get a replacement towing mirror in time after reversing over one on Thursday, so just went with one on the drivers side. Turns out I don't need any!
I've read and re-read the regs a number of times. It just happens that the van is 5mm narrower than the width of the D3 mirrors, so it passes the roadside test and I have the field of view as specified in Australian Design Rule 14/02.
The outside (edge of the glass) between mirrors on the D3 is 2140mm and the widest point on van (outside edge of the aluminium trim) is 2135mm. Tick.
I'll pick another set up just to keep the peace (and they do make it easier to reverse), but it's nice to know they're actually not required.
On another note, the friends from SA we were camping with at Christmas have been "McGowaned" (they must be the wrong brand of Australian I suppose) so we'll be re-considering our plans.
I was supposed to be over in Adelaide for a meeting - good thing I did it from here by MS Teams otherwise he would have got me too ................ again.
Last time I got caught there he kept the border locked for 34 days after every other state in the country had reopened their borders with SA. I ended up coming home via Tassie.
I won't repeat what I think of him on here - probably get banned.![]()
Compressor threw a code again, bought new off RockAuto usa. Genuine Hitachi. Cut a bit of harness out and actually found the high resistance this time. New comp sounds awesome. Seems to cut out at 260psi instead of 245 but, I'll need to look into that.
Also got a rear wiper for $3 bargain!
They have Bilstein shocks available for the D4, im thinking I'll be due again soon and I'll test them out. Interesting
Pulled old compressor apart. I reckon I must have bent the reed valve plate a little.. Not sure how. But everything else looks perfect
Towed the van back to grandads place. Massive prang on the freeway with average traffic speed too slow to even let it idle in 1st. Put it in low range and let it idle down the freeway in second with the odd change to third and back. Just about perfect. Now if I could get the cruise control to work at ~4kph it would have been even better.
Hooking up last week on an uneven site I had to get under an unreasonably low drawbar. Used the IID to drop the back and raise the front which got the ball a lot lower than just lowering the car as a whole. Lazy? Yep. Impress the occupants of the neighbouring site who were struggling to get the Hilux hooked up? Hell yeah.
Cheers, Dale
