I had a look at my fronts. They’re 20,000km in and the discs still have their original hone marks showing, not the slightest wear or lip, but as you say, fabulous stopping power, and zero dust. Technically you can’t have everything, but with these you seemingly can!

Finally ordered a new set of wiper arms with a few other bits from LRDirect.

True to form : (paraphrased) "Dear sir, the passenger side arm isn't available, we've refunded you and adjusted your shipping".
No, "can we back order it for you" or "There may be an alternative available". Just "No soup for you!".

This is the second time they've done this. Last time was because the colour knob I ordered was NLA. The others were in stock, but the order had shipped before they even sent the E-mail.

I love the rapid shipping but their customer service and stock checking could use some work.

Fully agree with you re no or low dust and stopping power. I fitted a set of akebonos after running a set of TRW D-TEC on the RDA slotted rotors for about 5000kms, got sick of the dust of these too. The rotors looked perfect when I fitted the Akebonos. What I didn’t do was get the rotors skimmed, which, with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, I should have done. Whilst these pads are awesome for dust, I think these pads can and do highlight any rotor wear. Since having them skimmed, perfectly smooth braking again, but I am keeping an eye on rotor thickness.

I spoke to my mechanic about Akebonos and he thinks they are a good idea, he also mentioned that brake dust damages the rims, by eating/etching the paint IIRC.

I bought mine from Pedders in Mandurah. Pretty sure my son also bought his (for his Amarok) through Pedders.

I see on the Pedders web site that they are still advertising Akebono, so I wouldn't be wasting money looking overseas for them.
    Cheers .........

Well it’s not wasting money when the price quoted was cheaper than OS with shipping included What happened to your D3/D4 today?, but sure, Pedders offer their product which they claIm is the same product (I cannot refute that).

Just replaced the front rotors (locally) and picked up the Akebonos (F+R) off Rockauto from the US as well (couldn't find them locally and local Pedders said they couldn't get them in). Best mod/maintenance ive done to the D4 hands down. Was so sick of the dust (and brake shudder). Wouldn't hesitate to use Rockauto for parts (got wipers at the time too) as my LR Indie put me onto them.
Just arrived: 2012 D4 3.0 HSE, the journey begins again ;-).
Gone: 98 Disco 300tdi Auto, and some extras
