People are bias I know , but haven’t spoken to 1 300 series owner yet that is unhappy with how it tows or performs, and many were towing vans as big or bigger than our 23 ft van.

    Just sayin

I have yet to come across a Landcruiser owner who will admit he's had problems with the car.... even though in some cases I know he has.
Rather like the Black Knight in Monty Python's "Holy Grail".
They appear to be more blinded and brand loyal than LR owners.... or is that they are simply too proud to admit a problem?......

Got the beast back having fixed the exhaust manifold leak. Also changed the turbo whilst he was in there, and the alternator needed doing again (one every 100k km it seems). A lazy $10k bill...

Yeah, those Toyota owners don't know how bad they've got it

It was a software update, how many vehicles have them?

The only reason it was a recall, and all over the media, was because it had something to do with Stability control.

New shoes on today. Tried BFG, Dueller & Falken in the past, now giving Toyo Open Country a run. Doing the Kimberley soon so it will be a good test.

Well blow me down - you can use the words 'media' and 'stability control' in the same sentence...

I’m thinking of going to them next time also. I’ve heard a few people rave about long life and performance. Keen to hear what you think.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

    Also new tyres.
Replaced Hankook Dynapro ATMs with Hankook Dynapro AT2s.
Around 80k km over 6 years- the ATMs still had tread left but were getting hard and losing grip.

Replaced this module today as the stickler in me was annoyed by a failed LED for the Hi ratio position, causing faults in the ECU and my OCD to struggle. Secondhand unit from the US had it sorted. Not the easiest module to replace as it’s buried in the centre console, but got there in the end.

And then proceeded to pull the old one apart, just because

Just replaced the left front hub for the third time, this time with Timken bearings, I learned my lesson. I had a pair of after market so I used both to get rid of them, the first lasted 19k the second 50k. Nick
