    I wouldn’t be doing that!

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

From the weekend - fitted a roof rack to the D3 so I can add a solar panel and a LED light bar.

It is a very cheap rack, but has a decent back-bone system and weighs in at under 16kg. Intent is to keep the load light as well.

I strongly advise against that. The perfect oil level is between the two marks. Too much in a modern vehicle is worse then too little..I pour out 300ml and then add the rest into the engine.

Confirming right drill bit/s for attacking the A pillar

I've started the preparation work for fitting a snorkel to the D4.

Question - If I recall correctly, ideally I should be using cobalt tipped drill bits for the hard steel in the A pillar and at fairly slow revolutions?

The D4 system is quite different to the D2, and hopefully a lot better at filtering (no competition I would think). I don't expect to be doing deep water crossings, but yes to dusty roads.

I think I needed one drill bit per hole, four holes.
