I fitted a CB radio under the passenger side seat a long time ago, and ran the power wire to something in the centre console. Only problem is when I turn car off so does the CB. Is there a wire in there that has power all the time or do I need to run wire back to a battery or fuse box? Just that those options will be a PITA. Thanks

Almost all references on the internet were for the holder staying put and not 'ejecting' when pushed. Mine was the opposite - would not stay closed.

However sourced a second hand unit and all fixed now.
Such a shame these were removed for the D4

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

The old girl served us well again last week - towing a camper trailer down to duke of orleans bay and back (almost 800km each way), on/off beaches and sand tracks, charging the camper whilst moving.

Not one single thing went wrong, epic comfort and (in my opinion) style.

Bit thirsty maybe, but then we were heavy and towing, bikes on the camper roof, into a strong headwind when flat, or up and down hills. 17.5L/100km at worst, which I could have improved by slowing down I reckon. Young baby in the back meant cover as much ground as possible during naps so not an option this time.

    Love this car

Does your Traxide dual battery system have cabling running through to the rear of the vehicle ?
If so, you have a power source behind the driver's side kick panel (assuming that the wiring runs as per Tim's instructions). Very easy to pick up power at this point (I have actually installed another small fuse box here) & this allows you to power accessories full time if required without drawing from the cranking battery. I have my UHF radio, my phone charger and my dash-cam all powered from here.
    Cheers .........

Truth be know we don't use the cup holder. Sticking out it gets in the way and I didn't want someone's handbag slung over it...

I wonder if it was a safety thing? Risk of passenger airbag sending a drink in the holder flying What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Yes they are unreliable and as I said we don't use it as each door has a drink holder and there are two in the centre console. How may more do you need?
