The old unit looks a lot like the one I have installed, and is so far working OK. I am a generation of infortainment older than your 2014 model though, so doubt i will get the newer edition. I know I had to completely disassemble the head unit to get it to work...
Still, love the simplification you've achieved!

Super ModeratorGiven the service manual states fuel tank capacity is 84L and usable capacity of 82L I'd be suspicious of the calibration of that pump.
I've been back and checked my spreadsheet and my memory is faulty.
The most I've put in the car is 82.32L and in 78 tanks I've put in more than 80L 7 times.
In the old days, running the tank low caused a significant elevation in fuel temperature and potential damage. With the TDV6 fuel system the return fuel only makes it as far as the filter and has passed through 2 coolers by that point, so it's not "as" critical. Air bubbles are also bled off before they hit the HPFP, so again not as critical.

yeah, I think you would be correct, but with the value of the fuel system and the fact that RACQ towed me home for free, I didn't think it was worth risking just for a bit of my time and labour.
I usually fill when it gets to 1/4 by the fuel gauge It usually takes approx. 80 lts at this point. If I wait until the light comes on it will take about 84 lts, so it then has the reserve left after that. I always fill so that I can see the fuel near the top of the filler neck. This way I know I can calibrate the fuel mileage accurately.
Cheers,
Murray

SupporterCame home from work one time to find the in-laws had borrowed the car. 14km range left - was a fun drive to the fuel station. From memory was about 75L to fill, so the range calculator was being "conservative" (wrong).
Was worried draining the tank so far down would cause problems but no issues to report.

SupporterReplaced the brake switch. Had been getting some hesitation on power up out of turns so hopefully a cheap and easy fix - fingers crossed!
