My yellow suspension light came on today as it needs front struts due to an air spring leak which has slowly been getting worse over the last week, can't complain as I suspect they are the originals with over 300K and nearly 19 years on them. Goes to my mechanic Monday. I heard it click and carry out self-levelling a couple of times in the garage last week, then noticed it down at the front a couple of days overnight, then heard the RH front leaking last Thursday.

This popped up today. I leave my iid plugged in and after getting the car back from a service with my trusted Indy, noticed a few days later that they’d unplugged the iid. Plugged it back in and this appeared. Car drives perfectly fine.

Anyone know what it means? Can’t find stuff online about it and haven’t had a chance to log into the iid yet

    Driver's door latch fix

Anyway, a friend of my daughter put me on to this video on youtoob https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izr2tYdf9co

Which lead to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk_vwrZCjb8

So on Saturday I tried the first option but could not get screw drivers in there and to be honest couldn't really see in there adequately. What I did see though was the cable from the inner door handle come off when actuator slipped down in side the door. You know what that meant. Yep, pull the door apart again. I've become quite good at this now.

Once I had retrieved the actuator from the door I looked closely at the mechanism in question (see videos) and the piece that required bending was not in contact with the plastic piece at all. Not even sure it is supposed to be. However, I bent it to make contact and applied some white lithium grease to aid in any friction issues that may arise.

Before reinstalling I sat with the actuator a screw driver and the key for some time activating the lock (as if the door had been closed) then locking with the key. Unlocking with key then activating actuator to simulate opening the door. Over and over and over with no negative issues.

At various stages of reassembly I continued to test and retest to ensure this was working as it should, again, without any issues.

The door has now been opened and closed on numerous occasions (normally without the need to slam it) and locking and unlocking has been normal.

So, before you splurge on a new door latch maybe give this ago. I'll report back later on how this is going.
Another follow up on the door latch. It has now been almost 3 weeks since I carried out the above fix. I'm happy to say there has not been one instance of alarms beeping or any need to slam doors. I can now confidently open and close my door like a normal person. I'd say this is has definitely fixed the issue I was having, so if you are having similar issues I'd suggest this instead of installing a new latch mechanism. At least the only cost is your time if it fails.

My drivers electric seat went weird. It stopped returning to its preset location. The forward back slide seemed to have a limited movement- a good few inches back from where it should have been able to travel. Eventually, not sure how, I eventually got it to move correctly again and go back to my preferred position.

The Antichrist has returned. Today the wheel winch decided it had had enough of winding up with anything of tension on it, namely a wheel. Seems there’s a clutch in there and in my case has given up clutching. Sigh.

New one ordered on AliExpress, along with passenger door actuator and the damn top radiator hose which had chaffed again, despite the cover being trimmed. I think the engine moves around more than it used to. Time to trim more of the cover.

    That is good advice.
The QPS didn't give me that info when I called them, so I will call again and see.

Have you tried unplugging the iid , cycling the ignition, and seeing if the normal display comes back? Iirc, the BT code readers should only be plugged in with ignition off.

Failing that,it seems your D4 thinks it's in northern Canada eh?

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Many thanks to good folks on this forum for moral support and Larry at the Dagenham Plant for concentrating during the original engine build in 07.

As a fun fact the current still legal just Bridgestone D697s were fitted at 230,558 and never rotated. New tyres next week trying Falken’s but can’t fault the D697s in anyway is the 3rd set I’ve had.

The current Akebono pads and standard discs were fitted at 145,600 and are not desperately in need of replacement. Discs have almost no wear still very smooth and flat. Dust free wheels ever since.

Recently put new steering inner and outer tie rods on prepping for the tyre change and alignment but still chasing a slight rattle up front maybe lower steering column is tired. Other than sway bar links and bushes and LCAs x4 everything else is original in drive train and suspension (except oil and compressor and valve rebuilds and fuses).
