What happened to your D3/D4 today?

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

I decided not to link a song this year in respect of the subject matter that is honoured in most songs about this particular age.

Finally got around to retrofitting the Logic7 parts I've been accumulating over the last few months...

Awesome difference in sound - it's gone from being brilliant to being epic I think. Genuinely sounds like the audio is coming straight out of the dash, rather than individual speakers.

Not a simple job though, apparently more complex on the 2009-2012 models like mine. It involved running cables through the door glands to both front doors, cables and new trim with speakers to the D pillars, an extra cable to pick up the centre dash speaker. Plus, an extra speaker in each of the front door cards. I cheated by replacing the cards with newer models (the top was wearing anyway), but if i didn't it would have involved cutting plastic.
Then a bunch of re-wiring under the driver seat to connect everything into the new amplifier.

The whole lot then gets enabled using the 'unconfirmed' list of CCF in the Gap tool.

Fair to say I think I've entered a phase of ownership where it's now a hobby..

Small update following the EGR coolant circuit delete which has been almost a year now. In normal driving I notice no difference temp rises and sits in middle. On the recent long trip I noticed when driving at 20-40 kmh for extended periods across large hard clay pans with very little rolling resistance in cool outside temps the temp needle would settle lower. I don’t recall seeing that prior. As soon as you stepped on the gas or hit a bit of sand straight back to middle position.
I went to take a photo this afternoon and the pink stain has disappeared. However the best way to describe the location of the pipes in on the firewall in front of the drivers footwell, immediately behind the top rear of the right hand upper control arm. Theres a bolt out the back of the arm that points straight at the pipes. HTH.

Sounds more EGR than heater as heater pipes are at the top of the engine drivers side. They go into the firewall behind the vacuum pump.

OK - I was told heater pipes by the desk jockey in the office at the Indy's. I'll confirm what they are when they get changed.

My D4 has been getting some attention of late. I'll add photos later.

Starlink Mini permanently installed on roof rack.
New tow tongue from Black Jack and DO35 hitch
Wiring upgrades for Caravan - 2nd Anderson plug etc...

Started construction of rear slide out for Cargo area.... Lots of pics being taken - will be a while as I have a knee reconstruction in a weeks time.

Are people finding even on regularly garaged cars the paint clear coat has died on the roof but elsewhere ok? Given the well defined edges I can’t imagine it’s a difficult panel to paint?
