I just rinsed the car off after yesterday's dirt drive, I have a pump spray bottle with a soapy water mixture in it to help get the bugs off the windscreen and front. I let that soak a bit while I rinsed the dust off the sides and I rub the back down while hosing as it really sticks there, and looks terrible and can get on my clothes while un/loading.

Years ago I put the back seats down in the D3 (or maybe my D2, I forget) and tarped it up, then filled it with palm fronds to take to the tip. Luckily no green ants down here!

iPhone 16 magnetic car mount and charger

    Dear D3/4 Gang,
I have just purchased an iPhone 16 with magnetic back.
i wanted to set up a new magnetic car mount / charger for it.
I checked out different makes for the holding power of the magnet.
“Cabin Crew” passed my in-store test. OK so far on road. 4WDing may be a different story…
On Special at SC for $29. The arm is also on sale for $29. The arm does come with a magnet, if your’e happy to charge your phone by plugging in the charging cord. I just like the idea of a “one-stop-shop.”
The arm is window suction based and I am doubtful about its ability to hold in the long run. Time will tell.
Merry Christmas and safe travels to all.
    Jeff.

So going by this forum and others seemed a choice of royal purple, ravenol or s-tec oil0005 and maybe some we don't have here.

The guys down the local parts shop said they stopped selling grape juice as the racer crowd were going off it due to some concerns or other, they had nothing listed for transfer case, and I had rang Penrite and asked if they had a suitable but unlisted alternative and they said no.

I did read somewhere that someone had used the Penrite BMV stuff but being a newbie to this clutch pack for transfer cases stuff I settled on the Ravenol as it seemed like the common choice and I could get it in Adelaide.

I did see the Rock Oil stuff too but it was online only and seemed much of a muchness and once again local availability won out.

Now who is going to chime in and tell me I screwed up, coz I'm not doing it till tomorrow so speak up now.
    Genuine in TC.

BMV is fine for a full flush transmission service.

I used genuine when I did my transfer case replacement. Not worth the risk of trying different oil.
    Best wishes, Jeff.

    In TC I 100% agree.

In transmission I’m more than comfortable using the BMV - it’s rolled 170,000km now using it.

I did it yesterday with the Ravenol as it claims to meet both the TF-0753 standards and TF-0870 which S-Tec have defaulted to (this is from forum readups).

I hope (time in use will tell) it will be fine they've been around many years (Ravenol) and I haven't found any negativity about it online and seems the go to for BMW guys with same style clutch transfer case.

Today I had a squiz and I have plastic trans sump. So ordered a metal kit.

Ford, ZF 6HP26 6Spd Automatic Transmission, Steel Metal Sump/pan, Conversion ... | eBay Australia

$149 with a once off discount voucher, any savings better than no savings, although its normal price is lower than everyone else to start with.
