So do I go for the Island 4x4 set that appear to be the same as the AF set (same part numbers, BWI branded strut assemblies) at almost $600 cheaper, or the AF units? To me as the part numbers are the same there is no difference in the item, just the cost from AF is higher. Unless I'm missing something?

If the parts are like for like go wherever you wish.
I’d personally just do the loop via email etc to confirm what you are getting is what you think it is.
That's the one I have. Great for other jobs. But not this one. The opening in my photo needs to be bigger

When the rain stops I'll remeasure. I think this was ok. Just not the jaw. I personally prefer the straight push type. But that's just because we had one when I was an apprentice

SubscriberConsidering the variety of tyre choices, tyre pressures, road types and driving styles I’d say that any difference would be highly subjective.

SubscriberChecked and D3 to 2009 have a different hub carrier part # to the D4 from 2010 onward.
Hub nut does have two varieties 32mm and 36mm but can’t see when that changes as listed for both D3 abd D4. Torque value for front hub nuts was changed downward to 230Nm for all models. Rear hub nut is 350Nm.
Quite confusing that there are so many variations of supplier, BWI is claimed to be the OEM supplier but then so does (has) Delphi. I gather these assemblies are covered by a parts warranty, so if one should fail prematurely, say 10,000km after fitting what is the discussion going to be with the UK based supplier.
As per some suppliers of parts here, is the first answer to a question around a claim going to be the start of a discussion about how it was fitted, who fitted it and what their qualifications are?
Will the second question be around the cost of return freight to the UK of the failed component or indeed freight cost to Aust of the replacement part including GST and/or duty.
If you were to pay the genuine part price (which may or may not be a BWI unit in a different box) and hence had a receipt from a LR parts supplier and it failed could you go to a LR dealer here in Aust and ask for a replacement part, presumably the LR warranty on spare parts is world wide.
But........GBP177 Vs 509..........wow that's a lot extra for supposedly the same component. (post 46)
