I had a set of Ora's on the cruiser for 10 years, always blew in until I got a magnetic support arm, driverside only.

No Matter what I did including a completely new set I could not get them to stay on the Disco mirrors.
Now have a set of Milenco Areo and have no problems, the drivers side still blows in - as any mirror clipped onto a folding mirror base will do,- but the support arm from the Ora's fits fine and it never moves with that on.
I have probably towed 12-15K with the Milenco's and I would buy them again.

Frustrating day having checked out D4's, Freelander 2's, Range Rover and a Sport at Bruce Lynton Land Rover only to confirm they all have the same wedge (Cross Section) mirror surround as my Sport.

I went to the Mirror shop and tried to fit the Milenco Grand Aero's again with the guy from the shop but as before they just pop off as you tighten the screws.

As it happened the Sales rep for the Milenco importer (Dometic) had just arrived so he also had a go but quickly conceded that they don't fit the Sport.

Later I happened to be in a car park where another Sport was (same series as mine) and amazingly it had flat cross section mirror surrounds, go figure. The only thing I can think of is that that Sport had electric folding mirrors where as ours is a poverty pack without.

I'll pass on my findings to Milenco UK an hope the have an alternative bracket. I've just about run out of time so will need to go for another brand.

Problem Solved!. I received an email from Milenco UK that said I need their Milenco "V Pads" designed for Freelander 2 , Kia Sorrento and others. (Milenco Product code 3186).
Image and details here : Aero V Pads | Milenco Limited | Caravan Products | Caravan Security | UK

Ive passed info to a local supplier to see if he can get some for me, about 6 UK Pounds on UK websites.

    What Towing Mirrors to Use

I am getting ready to go on another trip towing the van etc, but still haven't come up with a mirror that dose not blow off the car when passed by a truck, having visited several caravan shops and auto part stores the only thing seems to be the yet to be released "clear view" but at approx $800 I don't think its in my budget.

What are caravanners on the forum using?

    Snowy

Have been using Milenco mirrors for my off road camper trailer for about two years, have done two trips to the Cape and they have performed well. The car is a 2011 3 ltr Discovery, hope that helps.

    Hi Ryall

    I have a 2013 Disco 4 HSE which I had since January 2014
I recently did a caravaning trip from Brisbane to Shoal Bay NSW and back
I used a set of ORA brand clip on towing mirrors.
These mirrors fix tight over the Disco's external mirrors There was no problem with the operation of the Discos electric mirrors at any time
with the operation of the electric mirrors on the Disco.
When not towing I just removed the mirror arms.
I am very happy with these mirrors.

    All the best

    regards Kev

I started a thread on the same topic a year and a bit ago. Have a read and see if you gain an knowledge from it.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I've used my Areo's last week for the first time (only for 90km's though) and they were fine.
I bought mine direct from the UK with the Falcon clamps instead of the Aero clamps.
There's another mirror thread here that recommended the clamp swap.
    Cheers Mossy
