Thread: RRS 2010 Offroad Setup - Started! BullBar On

Garry I'll check and post I believe it is rrs. The car spent 6 weeks at jaguar landrover in sydney looking at many things. The techs were interested in the bag on the front. The story I got from them, is they don't recommend them on the rrs however they could see it was certified for the car.

I agree with disco muppet. The amount of people that talk to me about the car is amazing. However I pave not seen any other rrs that even has some of the basic other 4wd accessories. Just not a big market for them.

Yes but as you have found you do not need a dedicated bar for the RRS - it is just in the fitting and the plate - not a lot of cost involved. As you have also found, the same applies to many of the other accessories that are available on the D3/4 also go straight on the RRS.

    Cheers

I can only speak for my experiences with ARB but in my (probably limited) experiences, they haven't been overly keen to make changes in the name of any low demand product, especially for land rovers.
WE know it's a very simple task to make a D3/D4 bar fit an RRS, but do they?
Because for them to know, they'd have to take an interest, which maybe they don't.

Opposite Lock can do it so there is no reason the others couldn't do it.

There are a few RRS around with illegally privately modified ARB D3 bars on them - as with the OL bar the work is in the fitting not the making of the bar.

    Yes, this is true.
However, I've always found Opposite Lock to be far more accommodating in going the extra distance for Land Rover items than the other retailers. That's just me.
Yes, OL did it, so could ARB, TJM, everyone else.
They could, they probably should, but will they?
Let's face it, they're a business, that's making lots of money making items based on the majority of the market, i.e the toyotas, the nissans, etc. Why do you think they struggle to get a batch of 10 orders for D2 front bars, and have absurd waiting times, when you can walk in and probably pick up a prado bar that day, or the day after, and at half the cost?
It's about maximising profits by targeting the majority market.
And unfortunately, that sure as hell ain't the RRS.

Saw this RRS on the queenscliff to Sorrento ferry on Sunday, looked excellent. Certainly got me thinking about having the OL bar for mine.

The same goes for a d2 bar onto a p38. I asked ARB and TJM about it and it was a flat out no. Very dissapointing; it's a lack of will as opposed to business sense.

Great thread though; I think more people are going to want these accessories in the next 10 years.
