Thread: RRS 2010 Offroad Setup - Started! BullBar On

I was running in command shift. It was refusing to change. I had a transmission map update and service done. And the gearbox definitely now acts differently.
I need to run low range and I get full control of the box. But in high range even in command shift it refuses to change.

GOE rods went on this morning have done a small amount of Kms to check today. Tomorrow off to the desert should be a good trip.
Looks like ill be using a little more low range apparently after speaking with landrover the new map recommends low range for soft sand so you get full control.

Thats strange about Command Shift not responding, I had no such issue in the Simpson dunes.
Have a read of the last part of my first post on the trip here:

Have a great time, wish I was back out there.

Hi mate, Great lookin truck, seeing yours makes me want a sport more than ever.

How did you go in the desert?

What did you use for recovery points? I couldn't see any in the pics of the bullbar.

How did you get the power to the lightbar on the roof?

    Hi mate,

    Great looking ride!

Is the bar something OL stock now or was it a custom job?
Do you know if it will fit a 06 RRS?

Also where did you get the rear wheel carrier?

    Thanks

All available from opposite lock. I think they have a bar that will fit and 06.

I was in an Opposite Lock store today and asked about the RRS bar.

The guy indicated that the bars provided to them are actually D3/D4 bars and they come with a modification kit that allows the bar to be modified to fit the RRS. It also comes with the sticker or plate that says the bar complies to fit the RRS.

    Just so you know

Hi Garry, thanks for the info. That's what I have been told and have. Well I've done about 15,000ks now and in a different state. And been very very happy with my bar and the entire setup. Although had some problems with the car they have all been electronic, which I think JLR has finally found and fixed.

Is your compliance label a sticker or a plate and does it actually say RRS or D3/D4?

If Opposite Lock can provide a bar for the RRS through this process, I don't know why ARB, TJM and ECB cannot do the same - I assume the major brand name bar manufacturers are able to self comply their bars and do not have to submit them to an independent authority for testing and compliance.

    Cheers

Probably can't be bothered for the relatively small number of people who would buy it, there's not a huge market for them to be honest.
