    Hi zilch,
Unfortunately not, and due to me progressing options, I officially got banned from communicating with landrover customer care. Yep that department just doesn't care about there customers.

It was funny a dealer found serious problems something of which didn't show up in the logs, sent info to LRA in Sydney. After them proving there was metal filings they look like they have accepted there is a problem.

Drives me up the wall. Anyhow only time will take to sort it out.

Car still not fixed, currently blown power steering. But electrical gremlin still not sorted.

Hi Firefox I had a 2010 model tdv8 it suffered many problems I cannot legally tell you how/ what was done but I did use a solicitor and lemon laws and records. Wasn't easy but we did come to a mutually agreed solution

Yep just going through that now. I think Landrover think i am bluffing?

We just had them advise the local dealer today that aparently running 18" rims WILL VOID all warranties.

Yes lawyers and everyone else is involved, and i have more then enough records even an email from Landrover Australia admitting the car is a LEMON and not fit for purpose.

They just want to drag it out instead of doing the right thing. I can't even tell you the mess that (manager of Customer Care) has caused. The list is as would fill a book!

Time will tell, Landrover has had the opportunity to do the right thing. Oliver harding from LRA was doing the right thing, until he got moved sideways.

I think alot of interesting things will come out over the next month or so. We've got some real interesting facts and i record everything so yep it's a pity a company that "CAN" make a great car fail so horrifically when it comes to service. I have even spoken to the head honcho of service Mr Marc Paez and although he agree's i really think they just don't give a stuff about their customers.. Sooner rather then later their brand will be rubbish with so many complaints, but i just don't think they care.

    Cheers

I've heard of a few RRS having problems. That doesn't seem to have occurred in the D 3/4. Why is that when I understood them to be a pretty similar design & components. Especially suspension, running gear and electrics.

i believe the chassis is identical however i have the top end RRS and it seems things like the suspension i have the active dynamic so thats just one component. i also think its that same old story of was it made on a friday.

ive had a number of landrovers and none of them have had the insane amount of issues that this thing has had. i am still under firm belief there is a couple of critical electrical problems that they cant find.

there seems to be an increasing amount of RRS owners in the 2010 and beyond group that are having problems. not quite sure but maybe there is something funny. i have owned by the D3 and a D4 both which did not have the issues. both had similar accessories.. honestly not quite sure maybe someone can shed some light?

For the record, mine is a 2010 RRS and I've never experienced any issues, but it's a 3.0 ltr without Active Dynamics.

FF it may be worth joining another forum as well, namely the rrsport.co.uk members who have a long list of documented issues and problems, you may
be able to get some more research there as well from the global community

    Touring with the RRS

Wow, this is a pretty epic read but a tad depressing as a 2010 RRS owner...

What's the general experience on them as touring vehicles? I've seen written for example that they're (somehow) sprung more firmly than the Discoveries, which I believe as the RRS doesn't have the magic-carpet-ride feeling at normal height that our 2010 D4 did (though it was on 18" rims whereas the RRS is on 20" rims). What're the practical implications for outback touring of that firmer suspension?

Is the active dynamic suspension a liability?

And the lower payload? There's no way a family can not overload the car for a well equipped outback excursion. I'm resigned to a trailer of some kind on that front.

What can and should be done pre-emptively to minimise the issues?

Out of interest I must chase up what happened with the Vic owner who went to VCAT about his lemon RRS... I know he's not driving it any more.
