Brilliant colour, pick of the bunch I think.
So that's a genuine bar? Haven't seen one of those before. Very jealous of the roof rack, looks great.

I'm in the process of putting an Android unit in atm, there have been a few hiccups... Worked great after they finally sent the correct harness adapter... For half an hour. Then the magic smoke came out of the top and the screen went blank. Possibly related to the existing amp in the boot being faulty (sounded like bad capacitors), I've replaced it with a second hand one I'm assured is ok. We'll see how it all goes when it comes back from repairs in China. I've gone the full Monty with front & rear cameras, I plan to install a sub as well. Also on the menu is a DAB+ radio input, the unit doesn't have them as standard but a simple USB digital tv tuner plus an app to pull the DAB stations out of it and you're good to go. Oh the joys of Android..If it would only work! I plan to write a post on it when it's all done.. Perhaps I'd better write it when it's mostly done or it'll never happen.

I was really worried about the gearbox when I got it as it had a bit of a shudder when reversing.....so off to the mechanic it went....they dropped fluid and said it was dirty but no sign of any metal or contaminants! New filter and fluid and still seems perfect....I might be a lucky l322 owner with the only decent box that came out of the factory!!!

Shudder turned out to be a faulty injector and early stage of injector harness failure!

I have done most of the work (other than gearbox and programming of new abs computer) myself. They are a relatively uncomplicated machine once you get to know them ( wish I could say the same about the wife)

Yeah at first I couldn't work out what coax was doing in the rear boot space and when I contacted LRA about the history they said it was a press car. I would love to have a diagram of where it all goes...might be handy to repurpose it...as I don't much fancy removing entire interiors...done it once when I drowned my p38

I got the quad-core, 16gb/2gb option. It worked really well for the few minutes before the smoke came out, steering wheel controls and all. The smoke has all been put back in and it's on its way from China right now. There's cheaper options (dual core, 1gb system RAM, 8gb memory) but I didn't want to risk having a laggy interface. I'll have a better idea of whether it's worth it in a few weeks when I've got it all in and running.

I went with this one mostly for 2 reasons:
1- high resolution screen. Most are only 800x600
2- ability to use a 1tb portable hard drive, I have an extensive music collection.

The performance improvements due to quad core and extra system memory are good but kinda incidental.

I had no idea that level of gear was available for the older models. What did you pay for that? I scanned the web page but couldn't find a price. I'd be very interested if you get yours back and it works floorlessly.

It cost me around $750. It's listed as being compatible with the BMW E39 range, X5 etc.
