That one looks to be the Overfinch/JSP version.

I hope to hear back from PowerfulUK when they re-open to find out if the round-ended one is theirs and whether it deflects air downwards or not. My contact with JSP did not elicit any comments regarding their spoiler's ability to deflect air downwards.

The PowerfulUK version was a prototype that wont be produced, instead soon to produce one very similar to the Overfinch version. It wont be a deflector for dust reduction.

My lower tailgate has the same wear patterns as others here. I think I'll add the clear film.

The metallic gloss on mine had already gone so I thought it would not be long before bare metal was showing, as happened with my quite new D4.

PowerfulUK have advised that they will consider my request for a dust deflector version when designing their new spoiler, but no promises.

Thought I'd post this picture as an example and possible interest:

My RR after about a 20k run on dirt road, beside me a LC200 having just travelled the same stretch.

Is that a dust deflector fitted to the 200?

    Cheers, Jerry

Interesting comparison Jerry. I wouldn't have thought the LC design would have directed any air south. It clearly does.

The LC's works because it catches air on its leading edge and directs it down below the spoiler through the big gap between the roof edge and the spoiler, not above. All the L322 add-on spoilers are designed to send the air over the top.

The drawback of a centre-stoplight mounted L322 dust deflector spoiler would be that the centre would be blocked from directing air and therefore its unlikely to direct enough air to keep the area under the stop-light clean. A clip-on acrylic purpose-designed deflector as made for various other vehicles would be ideal.

Here's what the LC200 looks like underneath..

A follow-up inquiry to PowerfulUK a couple of days ago has prompted a request for pictures of dust deflector spoilers, which is the most encouraging response yet to any of my inquiries. The current LC200 deflector/spoiler was provided as an example.

I trialled moving the OE spoiler rearwards and tilted up at the front to direct air beneath it. Existing dust was totally removed at speed on bitumen but still accumulated enough on the ledge at slow speed to deem it not worthwhile, especially as the spoiler gave the appearance of falling off. A deflector wing mounted in the upper stop-light position is unlikely to keep the window totally clear but would hopefully at least keep the ends clear enough to prevent dust falling inside when opened.

If PowerfulUK don't proceed with a deflector spoiler then I'm likely to purchase the cheapest spoiler and fit horizontal perspex or similar panels on top of the forward edges of its wings unless I find a Pathfinder with an acrylic one fitted that looks like it could be made to fit.

PowerfulUK have sent their design for a rear spoiler incorporating a dust deflector to the model makers.
