    It will bother you if your starter motor packs in. Usually happens shortly after a river crossing in the middle of no where. I had to push start mine at every stop from the tip of cape York down to Cairns! Thankfully it only needed a small nudge to get going.

    Based on the leaked internal photo it's an almost certainty there will be a shifter.. and they wouldn't use the dial shifter on the Defender.. you need to be able to grab reverse and drive relatively quickly.

    Nothing wrong with an 8 speed tried and tested ZF,auto,which I bet the new Defender will have.

    I have had a starter go once or twice a few hits of the hammer got it going. Usually after deep silty mud.

    On that I'm guessing the mild hybrid, hybrid and full EV will not have a starter motor Won’t be retro...

    On another note, my dealer said new defender has been seen by insiders with some type of front bullbar option. Maybe we will see that if they release tusk photos, surely you would need front protection to work with rhinos.

    Starts from the tailgate catch up to the rear of the middle row seats and as you can see the middle seats don't sit flat when folded down .
    We also looked at removing the 3rd row head rests so the 3rd row foot area could be used for aux. batteries but as they are electric there are cables running thru them and no easy to reach connectors.
    The D3/4 would have to have one of the best seating configurations available, a perfectly flat floor once seats are folded and locked down.

    Actually, the last time I was up at the farm with the D4 we were doing circle-work in the paddocks.
