Big prices for a company that has such a bad name for reliability. I have said it before , they wont be seeing my $$$ on any of the clone vehicles , and looking at whats being posted on here about the amount of electrics the pretender is going to have I am shying away from it as I cant see it being affordably priced.Originally Posted by ozscott

The little Sd4 motor series of D5 has no low range. For that Sd6. So Sd6 with Air suspension and terrain response (Yep...an option on the SE) and metallic paint (and not even blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control etc etc ...very expensive options) is $110,000 on the road on Queensland. This is the min costs to get you the same basic underpinnings of off road ability as the very base model Disco 4...that's a bit of a jump.

I reckon LR are going away from their roots, more and more and unless we can get a base model Defender WITH low range, air suspension and terrain response for $80k or less on the road it just won't sell in big numbers. Certainly won't get my $$$ If you have to spend $100k to get that basic off-road ability.

And I bet those figures are for the RRS as well.
The aRangie market is totally different to the Defender target market.
Back on topic,the new Defender will be from around 80K onwards,at least.

SubscriberFirst quarter of this year LR only sold 830 cars per month. Even Merc in the same period sold 3,085 per month. Toyota 16,593 (not total...per month).
