Blackrangie the legalities of posting up pics is not an area I am familiar with but you posting up your opinion doesnt alter what the law actually is....so what if you are wrong then its Inc who is in the firing line. Are you a lawyer who has some knowledge of this issue? Cheers

Please explain the law that says reposting something freely avail on net and something not copyrighted is illegal.
Happy with mods call on it, just dont agree there is anything legally wrong.

I doubt it......a few years ago a camper trailer manufacturer started legal action against some forums and pretty sure AULRO receive a heads up letter from them.

Better to er in the safe side of the fence.....I’m pretty sure the kids didn’t get spooked, pretty sure they have made a decision and moved on

Pretty sure the camper trailer manufacturer name is still in the swear filter.

I didn't see the photos.
All photos are copyright automatically to the person who took them. Other people sharing them does not cancel the copyright in any way.

Someone owns the copyright of the photo. Did that person have permission to take the photo? Did the owner of the copyright authorise the publication? Apparently JLR is threatening legal action, so caution seems reasonable.

It’s a bit like defamation. Plenty of occasions where media reported what someone else said and the media organisation is included as a defendant.

If JLR UK own the image and someone stole it, then unauthorised use is a possible issue. But given the number of places hosting the image, it seems unlikely JLR UK would pick on a forum with meagre means. But it’s a risk, albeit a small one.

Also, JLR UK probably leaked it anyway, and the legal threat was to up the excitement.
