Exactly, the one in my sig was that colour originally, but the paint has since disappeared and it is now shiny alloy.

Fitted at the factory, before delivery for the sum of 8 pounds and 11s,which is shillings,i presume.

FWIW,insect screens on the vents were also an optional extra for the sum of 1 pound. As was passenger side windscreen wiper for 4 pounds,as were door locks, side and rear,1 pound 10S.Hand throttle,15S,Capstan winch,41 pounds, plus fitting,10S.

Any dark coloured roof will always make a vehicle hotter than a light coloured roof, unless the roof is insulated. Weeds your roof would be insulated with the Mulgo Conversion?, so black not so much of an issue?
Agreed, however we must remember this is a LR owners forum not a 4x4 forum like pirate(irate), there is a huge difference between bashing everything JLR and mixing genuine and warranted criticism with credit where its due. If someone is 99% criticism imo this forum is not for them.
People are always going to stand up for their brand, standing up for the land rover you love is also a big part of this forum, so its going to happen Won’t be retro...

Actually ... the RACQ did some tests on black cars vs white cars and found minimal differences in heat absorption and the rate at which they heated up - the interiors of the white cars were only a little cooler.

Temperature in Cars Survey - RACQhttps://www.racq.com.au/.../racq%20pdfs/cars%20and%20driving/.../0814_temperatur...

    They concluded that:

"This suggests that vehicle paint colour has very little impact on interior temperatures and rate of rise .... colour has negligible impact on the rate of temperature rise"

I think the tropical roof would be cooler because of the air gap, not the colour.
Both our camper trailers have tropical roofs, one blue and one fawn, but despite not being white they make a big difference to the internal temperature.

The airgap and the colour both make it cooler, but the airgap makes a bigger difference. Without the airgap the colour is more important.

The results clearly state that the dark blue coloured car was 3 degrees hotter inside than the white car. I suggest that a black car would be another degree hotter.

My D2a is a very dark blue and my wifes little "Buzz Box" is blindingly white and yet the interior of the buzz box is always far hotter than the Disco.

    Exactly,well said.

One of your recent posts is a very good example, short, sweet, and onto the facts.Fine.Nothing wrong with that at all.

Those types of posts are what this site is about.

This is a public forum, people have their opinions and views.

What i don't think people on here want to see is continual, long winded, ongoing posts criticising and 'bashing' other brands.

Its not what this place is about.
