This really annoys me, stealing peoples IP, especially when you have the company operating in the same country.

    What model do you own?

A lot less "bugs" in the latest defenders than just about anything else, then again with the gaps in panels, im sure a few could wiggle in Won’t be retro...

And that makes it right? No

Just like the best pie in Australia past down through generations and 10s of thousands spent perfecting and hundreds of thousands on a beautiful fitout, they are known as the most tasty of all pies, lines down the street.

Someone sneaks in a night steals your recipe, copies it, identical pies, look the same taste the same, and opens up a shop next door, dog move and illegal.

Next day everyone gets food poisoning as they used old meat and cheap ingredients.

You get what you pay for and stealing IP is illegal.

Not any more - you pay what the seller can get away with.

The Australia Tax is an example - following your logic if you pay less for exactly the same part from overseas than what you pay in Aus then it must be an inferior part.

Or if you pay $175 for a 2.7 TDV6 Oil Pump from a Ford dealer vs $450 for the same Oil Pump from a Landrover Dealer then the Ford one must be inferior.

We dont live in the 50s anymore.

In the context of buying a Chinese version of an evoque Won’t be retro... even if it was 100% the same or better quality, i wouldn't do it. Its so blatantly a copy, downright wrong in so many ways.

Yep, they used to say the same thing about Japanese stuff. Won’t be retro...

We get a lot of our equipment custom built in China now, over $50M worth last year - it's proving more reliable than the stuff we used to get from Aus, Europe, etc.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

    Agree.....

I’m flying to China Won’t be retro... on Monday to do a factory inspection of equipment that is nearing completion........

the factory that the Australian company we purchase the equipment from engaged a high end factory, I believe they manufacturer parts for airlines and hi-end cars......the progress photo shows one of the tidiest/clean/neat manufacturing factories I’ve seen.

Would be happy to use an Australian manufacturer but the gap is just too big and doesn’t make business sense especially in the tight market we operate in.
