I wade over bonnet height regularly in my Defender. It does not take much to make them safe for that. It should be a design goal. Safe to the point of floating. Carpet is a PITA when you do this.
I have waded several times over the bonnet and up A pillars for considerable distance 30m plus. D2 v8 manual. No problems and only minor weeping at doors (siliconed up gaps in rubbers). Have a well sealed scchhhnorkel of course.
Cheers

Has anyone moved their Puma under seat electrics higher than an Exbox? Obviously the ECU is already fairly high at top back of the engine bay. ...Will be very interesting to see if new Defender properly waterproofs all electrics. ...How would a full EV go wading with motors at each wheel?
I had the D2 with water over the bonnet numerous times while moving,no worries at all.
It’s when stopped that deep water becomes an issue.
Also hit deep water too quickly without a tarp over the front in a TD5 and the fan will hit the rad
The new fullsize LR's are 900mm with their factory bonnet snorkel which is just amazing really, can't see them going any less with new defender.

Landrover have released hybrid cars with unaffected wading from memory.
With pretty much ANY 4WD you can exceed the factories wading depth by using a wading bra or tarp and a decent snorkle as long as you keep moving forward and don't stop, IF you stop then it is usually "Game Over".
As mentioned the D5 has a fantastic factory wading depth So I imagine that the new defender will match or better this
Although I am thinking that in 90cm of water a D5 will most likely float away in any sort of current flow because they are so lightweight
