Funny, but there is plenty to speculate on, both on the record from JLR, educated deductions and from what we can accertain from the pilot builds and leaks. If you where correct, this thread and all its posts would have been pointless.

I ask whether climbing on to the roof and yelling for help might be a better solution, but Heslop points out that there are parts of the world where no one will hear you shout, or at least no one you want to come and rescue you.

Found a good vid also showing the bonnet acts as a water/air separator, then an additional chamber to separate air/water before airbox.

I don’t base my views on others’ heresay. I’ve seen much more of Rivian than I have of new Defender. I think Rivian is way out in front in terms of EV SUV design from what I’ve seen.

Ipace is a sports car in my book. Hopefully Defender won’t be a sports car or an SUV.

I enjoyed that article, thanks for posting. Shame it doesn’t say if the Disco drove out of the water bath or not.

As many people are buying 4WD's to tow their caravans around I am a little concerned about just how light these new D5's are and I imagine that the new defender will also have a low kerb weight/GVM and their ability to SAFELY tow caravans that easily exceed the tugs GVM.
I have always been lead to believe that the trailer should Never be heavier that the towing vehicle, Am I wrong in thinking this?
For example I have a little Navara twincab that has a kerb weight of a bit over 1800kg and yet it is specced to tow up to 2.8t and I would Hate to be towing that much weight behind that little bugger.

This is often stated, but how many prime movers are heavier than the trailer they are pulling?
