That would be cool but from what I have seen so far there is going to be little that needs to be customised compared to the current Defender, they have to leave something for us to do haha.

I have the latest switch pro system on my Range Rover classic, controllable by touchpad or mobile phone

I wonder if there will be an oil leak and clunk mod from the aftermarket to make current defender owners feel more at home Won’t be retro...Won’t be retro...

New defender could still have gutter rails, that part is still wrapped.
Didn’t look like gutters from that shot with the racks on.

The roof rail system on the D4 is a pretty good system.

Agree based on that pic alone it would seem unlikely, remember that pic with the black burka style material over a defender partially showing the roof..its not clear but gutters could be visible..
On another note, my dealer said new defender has been seen by insiders with some type of front bullbar option. Maybe we will see that if they release tusk photos, surely you would need front protection to work with rhinos.

Interesting , I took a DS for a test drive 8 days ago and asked the dealer if they knew much about the new defender and the reply was only what L/R have released of FB. They don't even have a date on when they expect stock to arrive.

    Cheers Ean

Yep i imagine unless you speak to the right person who has spoken to regionals or principles about it, will be same anywhere. Spoke to another guy in same dealer about it before hand, had no idea and didn't seem to care, that was the last time i spoke to him Won’t be retro....

Sales guy I've got now is awesome and very passionate about the new defender.

Ordered another JLR product through him for the wife, very positive experience and we both loved the car builder online. Won’t be retro...

Me and SWMBO are dinks... So a ‘90, fridge between the 2 front seats and flat foldable rear would suit perfectly! Hurry up LR - enough of the marketing crap, you should have enough details now to start releasing proper information.
I have already started looking elsewhere...

Where's all the fun in that, and what about the Chinese? Won’t be retro...Won’t be retro...

Seriously though as stated by a member on another forum Land Rover should get a prize for one of the greatest marketing trolls in history.

Why the 90 over the 110? Just don't need the space or prefer shortys?

I was joking the other day, but I think this could be known as the series 4 Defender, on the basis:

Series 1 Defender - coil sprung (based on RR), low spec/min electrics 90/110/130. Interior didn’t change much in this period.

Series 2 Defender - newly developed TD5 motor, ECU introduced, interior revised.

Series 3 Defender - new Ford TCi motors and new gearbox introduced, interior substantially revised.

Series 4 Defender - completely revised (prob using platform similar to other models like D5/L494).
    L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 49-107 (probably selling) turbo, p/steer, RFSV front axle/trutrack, HF, gullwing windows, double jerrys etc.
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 48-699 another project

I figure why drive a big car when I really don’t need it. I don’t know yet - but I hope that a 90 is cheaper? Lighter? Slightly more fuel efficient?

I never carry passengers - maybe once a year.

If I need to - then I can use the D1, RRC or Freelander...
