I would like to think in the new Defender this sort of course would not be an issue and check engine and other warning lights would remain off even when driven hard. If LR can achieve that sort of build then they will likely have my money and a lot of other people's.

    Cheers
Great pick up. I've watched that vid a few times before on TV and online but missed that completely. I'm a bit disappointed that James didn't mention it or highlight it in some way. Perhaps it was due to the vehicle being used outside of recommended limits (wading depth, etc) off-camera so they decided to gloss over it as they caused it. But maybe not. If they chose to leave it in the final, edited footage they should have explained it IMHO.

I honestly believe it wasnt even worth mentioning afer looking up the usual cuases of a non flashibg engine light in that year, also I believe the Range Rover Vogue has one of the deepest wading depths of any public 4x4 @ 900mm

NQR, this is a L405 and vid is 2013 (when 1st released) so, 6 years ago.

The warning of main concern is the red triangle. It could be anything from a suspension issue to something else more serious. When this shows up LR want you to get the car looked at ASAP.

In the context of the video, whatever it was, it was not so serious that it impeded the vehicle in any way.

I think it's important not to be so dismissive of these things when someone brings up a potentially negative point.
    Cheers,

    Sean

It's great to see whats happening in US and UK. It would be the same result here.

LR manage to sit at the bottom of the reliability ladder , as usual.

Don't these charts tell you something? They tell you that the vehicles on the bottom of each list are rubbish.

If a washing machine or tv set came up with those results , how ever you want to interpret them , you would avoid the brand like it has the plague.

Interesting to notice Toyota products topped the lists in 10 sections. You know why.

An all singing , all dancing , new model , is not going to lift LR from it's current position.

BTW, what's the strap hanging down under the engine of the Range Rover? Looks like a wiring loom.

Nah, it's plastic from when he took it airborne:

EDIT: from 4:35 in the vid. Embedding does not seem to use the time position....

There's no loom that low down.
    Cheers,
