They are actually the first real mudflaps they have had made for any vehicle since Series,County,Defender, and early RR and Disco's, mud flaps.

Seems they have listened to the buyers of their vehicles,on occasions.

But on other issues, haven't listened at all.

Agree, looks very similar. Planetary gear reduction - so no reduction through the chain.

First time I've seen the bash plate under the 110, notice the defender branding, does the X come with this, or optional extra ? Here is the 90 version

I'm impressed with the new Defender and I'm sure it's an excellent vehicle, but it's out of my price range, having to spend at least $90,000 to get a good spec.
For comparison, an Isuzu MU-X in top spec form is about $50,000, depending on deals. It's a durable 7-seat wagon, built tough, has a high-torque, truck-based engine, six-speed auto, rear coils and front independent suspension, protection, 16 inch wheels and can tow 3.0 tonnes. There is a six-year warranty, six year roadside assist and six years fixed price servicing. All for about $50k.
No doubt the new Defender is a better vehicle in many ways, but I can't see an extra $40-50k in value.
I won't be buying any new vehicle, being now a retired poor old fart pensioner, but if I was trading our 2009 110 wagon, I would be looking at either a new MU-X or a used Discovery 4 in that price range.
The new Defender just wouldn't figure in my calculations.
