I always thought they were too heavy (over 200kg empty).

What are their size and weight?
hi Guys,
bit of a general question, does the number 5 trailer have to be reg'd? or is it sufficient enough to have the same number plate as the Vehicle towing it? I was told it might n0t have to be reg'd because it falls within size limits in Vic. Thoughts?
Cheers

In Vic, as mentioned - yes. Same as my itty bitty Sankey has to be because it actually has some decent steel in it and weighs over 200Kg. My little Sankey came in at over 400Kg empty. But for $24 a year, it's not the end of the world. It just needs working lights, a VIN or serial number that identifies it, and have roadworthy tyres and it will pass for rego.
And if you ever want to take it interstate you are already sorted. NSW doesn't take too kindly to Vic's with unregistered 6x4's in their state. Far easier just to have it registered.

Interestingly in those Vic Roads regulations it states may have "limited TAC cover"
A good reason to spend the thirty or forty bucks and have trailers registered.
Cheers, Mick.

Thanks All,
I Figured it would be, I don't own one myself but I have a friend who owns one and is considering putting it on his club rego (same as his perente) which means I don't think I would be able to tow it behind my full reg'd Perente. Oh well, guess I'll just have to buy one!
Cheers
How much is a trailer on club rego? It's under $60 on full.
