I want to put a truck cab on one and probably a tray back, is that a good enough reason to want door locks and an ignition?

There aren't gonna be 3300 people who want to buy one and shove it in a shed to only see the light of day at military parades. I want to build one into a tough, dependable touring ute.

    Cheers
    Will

If I was going to use one as a daily driver I'd just leave the TC in neutral whenever I parked it up.
How many car thieves do you think are smart enough to think of that, unless they're fully pro car thieves. In which case they're not going to be after a perentie

Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville. At least, they're the ones I look at.
A couple of years back I picked up some centre seats from the Td5 Defenders that were auctioned off and a Track trailer.
All the other stuff I've bided on, I didn't win. I've mostly bided on picks an shovels but I did bid on a pallet of mirrors and a few pallets of filters.

As in isuzutoo2's post, many parts incl odos can be expected to have been changed during the service life of the vehicle - if the log book is available it may show this change. At times it would have only taken a flicking speedo needle (for which you or I may have simply lubed the cable) to have caused a new speedo to be fitted.

Advertised ks therefore may or may not reflect the overall distance travelled by the vehicle and should not be taken at face value - obviously some resellers (especially dealers) will attempt to infer that the ks shown are correct.

We know that some parts in them are replacements but in in other cases it would be impossible to know what parts may or may not be what was fitted on the original build.

Speedo readings aside, there are a number of clues that at least two of the current offerings have been through the Tenix rebuild process.

One of the soft tops also has a different roll bar set up, with braces on the rear hoop and and structural upper longitudinal bars (not canopy bars) connecting the front and rear hoops. I've seen pictures of this configuration being tested (which would be a lot stronger than the typical arrangement) but to date this is the only one I've seen come through the auctions with this type of roll bar/rear cage.

The vehicles used by the RSFU (Regional Force Surveillance Units) 51 FNQR, NorForce and the Pilbara Regiment had keys. It was one key fits all. they also had power steering, snorkels, split rims and bigger fuel tanks. I know this because the display vehicle got nicked one night from the Cairns Show. It had to have been a reserve member or ex reserve because a key was used. They all had the same key. If these vehicles come up for auction they are the ones to get.

Are they only going to be sold out of the Minto/NSW warehouse?
