I don't know if any of you have been out in Australia, but it does get hot here 40 degrees +, not everyone is in the teenager to middle age groups that can cope with heat, particularly if they are from southern climates, but they may still want a capable 4WD.

The 2003 Army remediation TD5 Defenders were fitted with AC and so are the Defence Mercedes G-Wagens so why would it be funny for a Perentie?

Although I will accept the joke in a soft top Perentie variant

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I was referring to the soft tops Diana.

Standard Defender AC is nowhere near good enough for Aus anyway, a roof mounted system would be the best, especially in a tourer.

Although putting a roof mounted A/C unit on a Defender will guarantee that you pay the truck toll every time you go through a toll gate with so much as a box trailer.

You won't get into most car parks in Australia and your Defender will likely live outside because it can't get into your garage at home.

There must be better options, that give you sufficient BTU without having to have passengers without feet or sticking something on the roof.

Nope, but where i live regularly sees 40+ in summer..... I still see no need for aircon....

And diana..... I'm good friends with more than a few tough old coots more than twice my age who still think aircon is for nancies..... Theyre a dying breed though!

Going Bush installed a system in his Td5 110, mounted on the cargo barrier.
Seems to be good enough for him.
I'll see if I can dig the thread out.
