That was 1000 years ago Pat! These latest beasts are a different ball game. Holden engineers have plenty of respect in motoring circles these days. Probably got their act together shortly after you left...:p

I wish I didn't have to sell my F6 Typhoon to buy my D4. I love Aussie muscle cars and these last ones are some f the best but $200K is a lot. My F6 was $65K plus onroads. I paid $52K and I didn't sell it for much less than that but the build quality is not European. I hope Holden and HSV bolt them together well for the price they are asking.
Ford did a superb job with their 6 cyl engine. Very good power & torque in the later versions, and jeez, some of the modified ones with big turbos etc, just crazy.
I had a ride in a modified F6, it was owned by the F & I guy from where we bought our RS Focus (very fast little car!). As soon as we entered the street, He put the pedal to the metal, & we were sideways for a "considerable" distance!! He also owned a VERY much modified XR5, and was quite happy to give me the boot fittings from his XR5, in exchange for the pump & goo which is what ya got with the RS, so that I could install a full sized spare!
It's amazing how things change. I now enjoy our 90, but Wifey now has the "quick" car, she has an Audi RS3 Quattro, 270KW & 465NM,..she's very happy,...I can't believe how happy I am with 90KW!!

Agree.
I won't be getting one either!,...but I know a few that are, and they are guys that don't have to worry about a dollar. One guy comes to mind, early forties, runs his own very successful business, & loves his toys, motor bikes, boats, race cars etc,..he loves 'em all,..."Big Boys Toys" I think?....and I think most will be bought by people like this. IMHO, if ya do have to worry about the dollars, then you definitely should not be thinking about buying stuff like this.

I wonder if anyone will change the Holden badges to Chevy ones?
If it makes parts cheaper I'm all for it.I paid $27 for a V6 thermostat ''O'' ring yesterday,one ''O'' ring,not a container of them,just one. Pat
