Hmm, wonder if a lambo style gullwing door conversion would eliminate the seatbelt catching issue - or the jean ripping action of the conventional catch

Same, when i saw the thread title i was thinking "WTF, why would you do that!" I was half expecting to see a pic of a defender with a gullwing and Marty Mcfly hanging out the door

    Which side?

    Hi
I am about to install a gull wing on my landy. Are you happy with yours on the RH side?
I am thinking the left may be better for me as I am planning to build in a galley behind it with pigeon holes etc for food and crockery, so access on the left may be better for me.

    Steve,

I installed mine on the righthand side for access to the fridge, to free up the rear door opening.
It fits on either side of the car though.

I also thought that it was better on the right side for lane changing on multi lane roads, but in hindsight it make little difference.

Have a look on the dolium web site, you will see that you can also get a shelf to suit your galley idea.
For you, I think the left side would suit more.

BTW installation has changed for puma models and it is now a lot easier, but the dolium website was not upto date last time I looked.
