The company that sold the replacement suspension arms to you should be insured for your losses and be expected to compensate you for the damage caused. I would be taking as many photos as possible and then discussing it with them about compensation and repair/replacement of your vehicle.
They wont hand over the money easily but I would think it would be worth the fight to get the compensation.
Don't let the damaged items out of your sight until you have an engineers report on them.

All good in theory but it generally takes money, time and a **** load of effort to fight the cause. Should we accept it? No

Yep you're all right that the company who made the "not fit for purpose " trailing arms should be held accountable, I'll at least contact them and see what happens. They are bloody lucky no one got hurt...

Meanwhile after a heap of calls I finally found a supplier who had all the bits I need to get rolling, and we're the best price as a bonus. Mr automotive actually had a new 130 tailshaft in stock, and pair used training arms and all the other bits. Good to have parts ordered, only bugger is won't see them till next Tuesday. So, any ideas on what to do in weipa for a week?!

Andy, thats really crook and just good fortune it didnt end up so so much more serious!

Id be chasing the manufacturer very hard and offering to supply photos and your story to 4wd magazines etc if you get bored because they take so long to reply etc...

Glad you are all OK, Ive been "holidaying" through your trip as though Ive been there (sorry if my snoring wakes you!) great car, great trip, hope its all back on line soon..

On the good side (If there is one) all your manufacture and assembly has stood the test, that must be comforting.

    Cheers!!

I rang the supplier who sells the said trailing arms today, of course he couldn't help but will forward my email with photo's to the manufacturer. I'll give them a chance to reply, I stressed the point that someone could die if it happens again. See what happens. Anyone on here a QC?
