Hi gaz nice work you are doing ! i have a question re the puma dash. are you using a puma bulkhead too or are you matchin the dash to the old bulkhead ? and re the gauges how do you intend to adapt these to your engine?

Thanks Stefan, I'm uing the original firewall as the wreck that i got the dash from was pretty bent. A Puma fire wall would be a lot easier but i could not get one at the time. As far as guages, i have the puma one but that isnt going to work with the Chev. I bought a new chev Silverado cluster when i was in the states last year but it is too wide to fit where the Puma one bolts into. I'm currently thinking of using Autometer guages but undecided at the moment.Quote:

Drive shafts have arrived from the US today. Sent on the 25th and arrived today so stoked with that! My local drive shaft supplier was not really interested in making them so bugger him and give my money to somone who is interested in working!
Rear shaft compared to standard 130. new shaft has 1350 series unis and i think the standard ones are 1310. Flange is rover pattern so will bolt straight in.

The front shaft was a pain because the Salisbury seems to sit closer to centre of vehicle which is a pain due to sump clearance. I also needed to go out wide to give me enough clearance around the auot trans. Front shaft consists of 3 double cardons, a centre bearing and adaptors to bolt double cardons to the the rover bolt pattern. I hope the thing is not going to vibrate or have some weird harmonics but i wont know until i drive it! Just need time not to bolt it in! At least now i have the shafts i can get the fabrication finished around the engine sump and exhaust.

Hi Gaz,
Amazing conversion you've got going on.
I'm keen to see the finished result.
I'm not sure if you're interested in upping your power yet?
My brother has just finished his Duramax conversion into his silverado with a 2010 duramax.
When he bought the engine he sent it off in the states to get it built up to 700Hp+ figure via a large single Turbo but he has since decided(after completing the conversion) he wants to twin turbo it and make around 1,000Hp+ via the Banks sidewinder gear so he will shortly be selling his Big single turbo setup which makes around 700Hp.
If your interested I can PM you his number & you can have a chat with him if you want?

Aaron,
Your brothers Silverado sounds like a beast. Thanks for the offer but i seriouslly doubt i could fit a compound set up with removing innner guards and or A/C. I will play with tunes to get a few more horsepower but thats about it.

I was always told a double cardon at each end of a shaft was a no-no. Not sure why though.

Only went with double cardon as i have weird angles with placement of transfercase for clearance and it has to go "around" the corner of the allison auto. Im not happy with the set up but not much choice, so hoping there will be no vibrations.Quote:

Yep, more than 100HP more than standard and then you really should upgrade the allison. I dont want to go down that route yet. cant wait to get that stage.Quote:
I Think, Gaz, that you will have more than enough Torque with a Stocker Duramax.:o
Maybe a LITTLE chipping but you will have waayy enough, trust me:wasntme:
