Any more progress on this deefer GAZ69
Bits and pieces but not much! Bull bar and side rails were powder coated (months ago) and i also mocked the exhaust and just need to remove it and complete the final TIG welding. Was hoping to have it ready for Melrose in SA this easter but no chance. I made an alloy intake but not real happy with it. Having a few issues trying to sort out enough intake flow without resorting to twin intakes. Just not enough room under the bonnnet for a motor of this size and all ancillaries.

    Cheers

Wow, impressive vehicle and interesting thread!! Makes my upcoming TD42 into my 130 seem easy!!! Got me thinking tho.... People keep offering me twice what I paid for the Pootrol motor! Always liked the idea of a Cummins 6BDt in a 130. Where are you roughly in 'Remote SA'? Would love to c this thing in the flesh if I'm passing!!! Keep up the good work. Thinking a YouTube Video link of it running (with that rumble)......!!!

G'day mate,im about 6 hours up the stuart road from adelaide. Seen your posts about wanting to do the TD42 so will be watching that with interest. I did think about the cummins route, but the Duramax is lighter and sounds better! I was hoping to take it to Melrose this year but still not ready. Determined to have it finished this year. You going to Melrose?

Up until yesterday no, but a Confined Space course that I was doing with work over that weekend has been cancelled, and I don't fly back to WA now until the avo of the 3rd April, so may have a crack at getting there! The Cummins can be made to sound great but I hear ya! If it was feasible I'd have a Scania V8 in everything I own but.... yeah, it just ain't gonna happen!!
