It had to be white due to time constraints - I didn't have time to strip the vehicle out and repaint all - so it went back to the original colour. I took a panel to the paint shop for colour matching and they didn't do the best job the first time - and I am not all that fussy!

As for paint codes, the label under the bonnet is blank for both paint and trim.

During the rain, we pottered on with some other bits :

repaired the broken bracket under the turbo cover - bent up a new bit of flat bar

    replaced the rocker cover gasket

cleaned the firewall ready for some rust preventative cavity wax treatment. I am impressed with the clean and rust free state of the firewall

Messed around with a secondary fuse box for the extras: driving lights (30A), upgraded HID headlights (20A), rear work or reversing light and reversing camers (10A), fridge (20A), HF radio (30A), UHF radio (10A) Sound system (60A main and 5A ignition) and aircompressor outlet (30A)

I used a Series1 Disco under bonnet fuse box and fitted it into a rugged Clipsal weather proof box

The fusebox position will probably be inside the rear door in the void adjacent to the seat - not sure yet but this position will allow for good access both inside the car and also outside.

Looks like a pants ripper there. Does it fit in the tool roll holder under the seat - just above the jack in that pic?

That's probably the excuse that Toyota uses too.

There was 5 Defenders down town outside the pool this afternoon - 4 white Tdi's and a Puma (Andy's, not mine)

Nice unit. I'm looking to replace the Blaupunkt stereo in the Astra as it is becoming my "other car" when the Rangie is erstwhile occupied... This unit might do the job, although I've had a tendency towards JVC in the past. If you don't mind me asking, how much and from where?

I think I'll end up replacing the all-in-one single-DIN CD/DVD/GPS/iPod/SD/Radio/TV thingy in the P38A Rangie as it is basically Chinese crap that won't let me play the radio while the GPS is running. So I'm in the market for a suitable replacement as well if you know of anything like that. Maybe I'll just put the the JVC CD/DVD/iPod unit back in...

    Cheers, Paul.

BTW: you guys rock... wanna fix my front passenger door while you're at it?

Whats up with the blaupunkt? i love the one in Glorias caprice, but it may be a slightly diffeent unit to yours.

Theyre all chinese these days, $365 all up for the head. Pioneer DEH-6150BT Bluetooth USBiPod iPhone DEH-P6050UB - eBay Players, Audio, Video, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 25-Sep-09 23:56:12 AEST)

As for the door, all you need to do is get one painted (or wait for another blue one).
