I lot do do here.
The spring hangers all have been cut off and drilled or welded back on to lower it down.
Rust is mostly in the back rails and two of the out riggers.

personally i think you wanna return it to the way it was so that means replacing them then do so

On a hole its very straight. Too straight in fact. Will find a lot of filler under that paint. Has had a respray or two over the years.
The bulkhead,foot wells and doors will need repairing as has the odd rust hole or bits missing. Will have to lift the skins off the doors to do a good job.
All the seals and window channels will need replacing one all done.
See the power outlets on the lower image.
Very happy to read you are reconditioning our old girl! This has been our family car ( old Aunty) for the last 38 years. Know every hole interior and exterior and how they got there ha ha! Had some awesome adventures in her, learnt to drive in her and drove her all thru my twenties, never let me down) Was very sad to see her finally leave our family. Good luck with the reco, would definately love a dvd of the job. Thanks for saving her from the scrap heap!

I got your PMAnd a big welcome to the forum! I have a feeling this will all be watched very closely by some of the boys at ALL four X 4 as they're aware I kick around here a bit
Feel free to add any comments or thoughts here any time. Any history or pics of AYI 077 would be great. I'm thankful they contacted you as I asked a few times.
Tell me this.... Was that clutch always vicious like it is nowI don't know know you ever drove it in heavy traffic
I had a bit of fun running her up onto the trailer as the engine was cold.
Cheers Tony
Thanks! I'm the keen daughter whos joined the forum and loved our AYI077 but I reckon my Dad, whos maintained AYI for the past 38 years will be pretty keen to tune into the forum from time to time to watch your progressThe blokes from All 4 apparently did contact him to see if he had any more orig gear off the ol girl he he..He drove her 5 days a week, about 30 kms a day to work ever since I can remember, and yes, this includes the heavy traffic in peak hour!
)
Hopefully I'll get him on the forum soon and you will be able to chat with the holder of AYI077 mechanical secrets direct!
Such a small world some timesI'll be in real trouble if Mal finds this as well

Will be an interesting venture as we go along
