    Its not a bad conversion, its has one original guard and one later 80" one.
    The engine still has the VW gearbox on the back and its output is converted onto the LR gearbox (complete) the gearbox has been moved back a bit.

    Barn Find

    Been trying to track down this apparent early land rover for awhile and today managed to get a look see. Turns out its an early 52 last registered in 1958, missing rear diff/radiator and genny. The other car is an early 56 CKD model SWB. The shed they are in had rotted out and is now about to fall on them and the other cars/tractor sharing the shed. Oh and the 80" has a boat stored on the roof.

    My newly acquired 80" 26660298 1952

    C/w original 2ltr (still turns and oil looks good) and PTO, is straight and nearly all there. Rear diff problem???

    Rear diff - dunno yet

    Been in shed for past 20 yrs with rear shaft disconnected. Was only used to drive silo lifts with PTO before that.

    As story goes, belonged to a Garage/mechanic in Emerald, the guy I purchased it off of (indirectly) bought it from him and used it only to drive the lifts for the silos. After that it sat in shed for 20 years.. I now have him.

    First things first, juggle the other cars and boat to give him a semi permanent resting place for the next, however long, and get him stripped to rolling chassis, clean and troubleshoot/investigate. See if I can get him to run and move. Make a "defects list" Proceed from there.

    KISS, new seals, new oils, new wiring...................etc.

    I was going though some old photos and found a series one which we had at the farm at kangaroo valley.
    I know nothing about it..........what year model......anything special about it.
