1. Not much done at all due to the rains and general bad weather but did get a delivery today, guess what it is...
2. Its a fuel tank cleaner and sealer all in one used for motorcycles but only needed the base done on my S1 tank so should work out fine (hopefully) .... will drain out the molasses and clean out with this stuff, did come with two gloves in black as well
3. Here it is in the flesh, can't wait to clean out that tank, fit and then add fuel - and do away with the temporary fuel jerry can set up.
Good evening.
I put the same kit in my Greeves Motorbike fuel tank, many years ago.
The problem I have today, is it seems to be reacting to the modern fuel, and is breaking down..
Once a year, i have to fill it with old nuts and bolts, shake it, then try and remove bits.
Only discovered problem at Trials event and The Greeves was leaning out, to the point of seizing. Fuel tap blocked.

Just had a thought. Might have added that kit to my Fergy ???? if so no problem over last 12 years.
1. Molasses washed out of the fuel tank, not a big difference though somewhat cleaner then before, rinsed out for now...
2. this was the first radiator flush, got it running for 20mins, then took off the bottom radiator hose and drained off, lots of dirty water brown colour (deposits of rust maybe) came flushing out of the bottom. re did with the 2nd bottom now engine block should be clean as a whistle
3. would love to know where this smoke is coming from, not sure if its from the downpipe or from the manifold as it heats up...
4. had this temporary plastic pipe for the advance which has heated and closed off, air or vacuum supply - will replace soon but whats its purpose
5. new radiator arrived today, looks great but needs trimming of the side aprons which interferes with the steering relay on one side, just needs a quick angle grinder encounter to fix up. also has the two holes at bottom for auto pipes, will need to find suitable bolts to close off
6. radiators new and old side by side, old radiator was getting hot even with the fan blowing, after 20mins of running i could hold onto the rubber hoses but the top of the radiator was too hot to hold my hand down on. concerned the water pump may not be flowing water or working for that matter (was brand new), again has no thermostat
so the radiator flush complete so engine is clean as can get, new radiator needs trimming and fitting, fuel tank needs cleaning again with new products purchased, ran out of fuel so got more petrol in jerry can today. engine still revving a little high so still playing around with settings to get the rpm down...

Reason: additional info
The smoke from the exhaust manifold could just be from dirty hands handling the manifold or from when you cleaned down the motor , should burn off after a while .
1. rec'd another delivery - this time its the sock for the radiator to collect any loose item floating around fitted to top hose
2. working thru the 3 cans of cleaning sealing fuel tank - all cleaned today ready for the next application which is the sealer, inside is looking very clean, bare metal
3. radiator wing marked for cutting to fit on p/side
4. after cutting and grinding clean - came up ok
5. while looking around for bolt or plugs and after your comments i emailed my supplier from ebay and with a quick response was told to leave alone as the bottom is separate to the main tank, here is a close up of the internal tank
6. finally coolant added (no leaks) and temporarily bolted into position, not started yet but will to circulate the coolant
1. Fuel tank cleaned, sealed now and rotated as per the instructions and let to sit in different angles for short bursts of time to cover the entire sides and base of the fuel tank which it did
2. the inside view, its like a silver paint, easy to move around the tank and up the sides. now sitting flat allowing to drain any excess sealant, says allow 4 days to dry, so lets sit back and literally watch paint dry...
maybe on the weekend will bolt up into position but takes 4 days before i can add any fuel
