i just got told from the guy where my engine is that the crank is from a 1.6L so what does this mean?
the engine is a 2l though
oh and welcome back
Thanks for all the pics - so good to see it being done properly, not just a cosmetic job - well done. And one hell of a workshop too.
In the pictures of your chassis, looking from the front, are those stiffening plates inside the ends of the dumb irons, with holes on them?
I haven't seen these before. Most intact dumb irons I have seen have a solid flat face welded flush with the end. Do these brackets normally sit behind the end plate, providing strength where the bumper bolts through?
Is it that this is an 80 and the ones I have seen are 86/88, and different?
Arfa's dumb irons are rusted out at the ends - no end plate left and no evidence of brakets having been there - I think you asked me about that when I posted some pics but I didn't know what you were looking for.
Does anyone have a picture showing how the dumb iron is put together on an 86?
Thanks again
D
i have to weld the flat face on later after i fish oil it inside and yes that is for the bumper bar bolts
