Or on mine collapsed rubber , basically the lines were blocked not surprising they would not bleed. Shame mine is not a bit quicker or it would get used on the highway and not around the farm as I do love series Landies

It's been a while since I've updated so I'll try to catch you up on our progress in one hit.

Firstly, brakes.

After the agony of my last experiences with Series brakes I was very prepared for more.

I didn't bother wasting time so I replaced all of the rubber hoses, had the rear drums machined, installed new shoes & wheel cylinders & bought 6 bottles of fluid in preparation for the torture ahead.

Turns out I only used 1 bottle of fluid & the brakes bled up beautifully.

One happy chappy I can tell you

Next electrics.

Having succeeded in getting a good pedal on the brakes I though I should see if the brake lights worked.

Nuh

It seems the pressure switch had a broken connector on it.

Not wanting to test my luck with the brake bleeding gods I decided to add a switch to the pedal box instead.

Works a treat



I also put a new regulator on the alternator.



I used a head light upgrade kit from Traxide to replace the cut out wiring & replaced the dodgy headlight switch with a Lucas one.

I haven't cleaned up the install yet but you get the idea.



On the weekend I decide to have a crack at the wipers.

I could here sparky type noises from the motor but no action so I removed it for a look see.

The motor was all rusty so I cleaned it all up & set about fixing the mechanism.

The grease inside had turned to stone so I cleaned it all up, greased the moving bits & put it back together.

To my delight the motor started working as it should & is now ready to be returned to it's home in the dash.



I'm just waiting on a nicely refurbished steering wheel from the Ho Har's to go on here.



I've also got a replacement bumper, windscreen glass & front prop shaft to go on in the coming weeks.

The Stomberg carb was leaking from around the spindle in a torrent so I ordered a Zenith copy from the internets.

I had forgotten though that an adaptor was required.

Ho Hars to the rescue again. I believe it came from a member of SLoW so thanks very much

I also realised that I didn't have a little knobby linkage thing on the throttle arm but a bit of old coat hanger will suffice until I get one...from somewhere??



Just a little reassembly & changing of all the fluids then hopefully we'll be good to go for rego.

He is a regular down here. On Thursday going to pick bits off 15 odd Landys that are going to scrap. Dean send us a shopping list. Your steering wheel is ready.

Headlight wiring tidied up.



Face back on.



Found a leaking rear hub the other day so I've added a reseal to the list.

That steering wheel looks nice!
