Thanks for in put guys will try a jury rigged earth wire with a couple of alligator clips and see what happens

did a 50 mile trip today just to see what happened.......basically nothing everything held together

50 miles being quiet a chunk of the trip to Cooma coming up, gunna stretch it a bit weather permitting (no roofbut my wipers work)next Friday by driving to Orbost as I go there every Friday anyway. Will try and tee it up with local tyre joint for a wheel alignment while I'm there.

    Cheers Paul

Could it be corrosion stopping an earth path from the sensor to the head ? A long shot but removing, cleaning & replacing with some conductive grease might get it working.....but if it's not important probably best to leave it alone.

Colin reading about your otter switch they are saying comes on at 85c my motor never seems to reach that temperature hovers around 140f or 60c could this be the issue?...

Seems the Otter switch was used in some vehicles to turn on the electric fan.
with that in mind they may have different temperature settings.
I think yours has failed or lost it's earth connection.

    Looks great

    Paul

    Looks great.

I didn't get mine finished but will bring it to Cooma anyway. (Perhaps you can give me a few pointers as to how to finish off).

    See you there.

    Angus
