Love your dedication to this, what can really only be described as ****ty work.
As as far as getting into those little nooks and crannies, Bunnings is your friend. They have all sorts of little wire brushes that fit into drills which will get right in there. Some for sides and some which work on the ends,,, you'll understand when you see them. They also have disks that look like dish washing scourers for paint and rust removal. They'll work a treat for you.![]()
Would you believe i have many of those ones, except the scourer type. Bunnings is a place i spend way too much money in!!

For those doing complete rebuilds, I like to ask where (if you have) purchased gaskets/seals/unis/bearings etc from. I am not sure if it will be cheaper to try buy most in one lot or only as I go through the project.
As I will be doing the drive train first, looking at these to purchase. Where did you get your stuff from? Also, for paper gaskets, is it more economical to buy the paper and cut the gaskets out?
Cheers,
Carlos

Gaskets and seals I brought mostly from the UK. Craddocks or Paddocks. I did the math, it worked out cheaper even with freight added.
Some bearings and unis also came from the UK for the same reasons. Some I bought locally for the convenience of not stopping the project to wait for delivery from overseas, a week to 10 days usually.
I've not cut any of my own gaskets. Me with a pair of scissors compared to a laser cutter? They're not expensive.
Keep in mind if you are importing parts the ATO might sting you if you import more than $1000 worth at a time. I capped my orders at $800 so they would come in less than this amount when shipping was added.
Cheers,
Peter.
Just went onto Craddocks... yes seem to be good prices. Looks like I need to do a list as they dont seem to have complete sets for everything that I can see anyway. May shoot them an email and ask.
Thanks,
Carlos

I buy everything through my usual supplier - British Car Components. If they aren't in stock, it's next day and their prices aren't that bad by the time you add freight, etc but if every cent counts, OS will be slightly cheaper, but we aren't talking big dollars for gaskets anyway.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Carlos you have read my mind, today as I was removing hubs I thought about all the gaskets and seals I need to get and was going to make a similar post.
I try to list every gasket and seal I destroy in the tear down, and enter them in a bit of a spread sheet with part numbers to aid purchase when the time comes, I also enter nut and bolt locking tabs for replacement which seem to be all over the car.
I agree a gasket/ seal kit for the whole vehicle would be a good thing if it exists.
Cheers Paul
