That looks like you stole my engine stand. Brother & I had two heavy deputy ones made when we had our steel & alum engineering business. We had bought one from Supercheap & when we mounted a LR or Jag motor in it the upright post would bend & the front of the engine would end up 200mm lower than the back. We made a support for the front but that only got in the way. Yours looks a dead copy of ours .
AR I like seeing a freshly painted motor in the correct colour. Back in the days when I run the judging at All British Day I would tell the crew to quickly go around & pick 5 vehicles in each category then go back & ask to look at the engine bay . Under the bonnet would always produce the winning car.![]()
Got the timing cover and water pump fitted, apologies to the previous posters I kinda went out on a limb re colour

Oil filter didn't have a lock washer so I made one then fitted sump

Couldn't get my head around assembling the rocker gear from the manual on the bench........ so assembled it in situ

Motor seems to be nose down without wood block under flywheel housing
