Well got round to doing a bit today . No work to Harry but this had to be done before i could work on him properly..
Got the tray out from behind him to make more room..
Then started to load all the body & bits onto it so as i would have some room..
Then tarped it up so to keep as much of it as dry as i can..
See more room..
Harry with a sore foot . .
All cleaned up around Harry & got all the weeds out of all the cracks in the old slab. .
All ready now to start degreasing & pressure cleaning..YAY..
Now a couple of questions..
I noticed in the cross member under the engine today that it has a dug out in it for the drive shaft...SO is it a military chassis or 1ton..
The chassis number is i think from what i can work out is 943203480 or the last 0 could be a C not to sure ...Someone mite know with the number..
Also where are the ribs on the later gearboxes i seen these but havent yet had time to go look at the green one to see if it has them or if i have a pic of the green ones box close up on same side..
So anyway thats where i'm upto so far & i hope to start degreasing tomorrow & pressure cleaning..
Then out with the engine, gearbox & diffs ...

Well i got out & done some more to Harry today , Started by spraying some degreaser all over it. Its only the SCA brand but hasnt worked to bad really..
Any way this is the first time over it with the pressure cleaner ..
And this is after the second going over with degreaser & pressure cleaner only needed to go over it twice so was happy about that..
Then came in for some lunch while it dried off. After lunch went & took the drive shafts out both are shagged will need all new unis at each end of both..
Then took out the front shocks & undid the tops of the rears..
Thats it for today will get some more done tomorrow after lunch as we getting a visiter ...

that's a suffix C box so not one of the last ones suffix D is supposed to be the best to look for but if yours runs nice, changes nicely and doesn't hop out of gear i'd just continue to use it at least until it shows signs of needing work/replacement...
i don't know enough about landys but i'm led to believe that all the one tons had that cutaway in the crossmember for the prop' and i'll guess the military "combat" chassis did as well due to the increased prop' angle caused by the extended dumb irons/spring hangers and shackles (i really need to crawl under my N.Z. ex-mili' 88" to see if i have that cutaway as that has extended dumb irons)...
anyway your progress is looking good![]()
Well went & got a bit done this morning before it got to hot..
Took the engine out..
Took adapter off & clutch to put the engine on the stand..
Then took the gearbox & transfer case out..

Just need to get the fueltank out then the diffs then i can start on the chassis take all the brackets off that shouldnt be there..
Had to come in at lunch time as it was to hot so will get back out there tomorrow morning even maybe this evening...
